The gentleman's name standing next to me is Stites. He was at Pearl Harbor on
December 7, 1941. He was on the deck of the ship he was stationed on drinking
coffee and reading the morning paper, when the Japanese attacked. The name if
his ship was the USS
Whitney, a destroyer tender. He also saw the USS Arizona blow up. Stites had
many stories to tell me and I wish I could have spent more time with him. He
lives in Huntsville Alabama, and is retired from the Navy and then worked at the
Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville.

   Packing
up Penny and getting ready to leave Huntsville. Zing and Abigail were
supervising.

Our gracious hosts Peggy and John in Huntsville Alabama.
Drove to Rome Georgia and saw this statue donated to the city of Rome by
Bentio Mussolini. Yes the fascist dictator from Italy.
