As we continued up the coast of Oregon we came to the town of Tillamook. And you guessed it that is were Tillamook cheese is made. We took the self guided tour of the factory and ate free samples of cheese.

After Tillamook we headed to Astoria Oregon to see the Corp of Discovery's fort. Before we got to the fort we came upon the site where the Corp of Discovery boiled sea water to get salt.

 Lewis and Clark and their men spent the winter of 1805-1806 on the South shore of the Columbia River. The original replica fort burned down and they were in the process of rebuilding when we were there.
