March 24, 2006

Continuing our history tour we went to Thomas Jefferson's plantation, Monticello. Thomas Jefferson is also buried here. We were part of the first tour of the day so our group was small. After we finished the tour there were people (mostly French high school students) everywhere.

Jefferson woke every morning as soon as he could see the hands on the clock in his alcove. The first thing he did was plunge his feet into a bowl of ice-cold water. He felt this warded off illness.
