From Carlsbad we headed to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We walked down the entrance of the cavern and dropped at distance of 750 feet. We took the elevator up.

From the caverns we drove to Davis Mountains State pare to spend the night outside of Fort Davis , Texas. After a spaghetti dinner we cleaned up and went to sleeping bags (bed). At midnight we heard the thud of the cooler lid (we’d stupidly left our cooler out on the picnic table) hitting the ground. Next was a snarl of snorting and growling as javalinas fought over what turned out to be breakfast bars. Terry was out in his underwear and socks throwing rocks at them to scare them off. Heather had such a fit that we spent the rest of the night in the car.
